Hey, you found my site! My name is Hugo Devillers, I go by 'Gobrosse' on the internets, and younger
me used to go by 'hugobros3'.
By day I'm a student @Unamur working towards obtaining a bachelor (then master) degree in computer science, on my free time I like to do games programming, especially graphics programming.
My current project is a game engine called Chunk Stories, a Minecraft-styled voxel engine that puts focus on being more of a blank state for content creation and enabling crazy modding shenanigans, something I always thought lacking from the original game. The game is made available for free, and has an open-sourced API, as well as all the base gameplay elements.
Going forward, once I graduate I'd like to work in the videogames industry, as I've been making games
since I was 11 and in comparison, all other fields of computer science just sound boring. I'm
currently specializing in writing multithreaded engine code: particle systems, asset streaming, concurrent
systems etc, as well as being familiar with the core aspects of realtime 3d graphics.
I also have an interest in networking and netcode aspects, but I have yet to better my education on those topics.
